Genuine U.S. Government issue. Nicknamed "the 1757," this American classic has been circumnavigating the globe for nearly 100 years and 5 generations of US Navy and Coast Guard sailors!
Features a razor-sharp, specially hardened #440C sheepsfoot blade, molded chip bone scales, and a forged stainless steel marlinspike with a safety lock. The lanyard bail doubles as the spike release lever, and has an integral shackler key.
National Stock Number 5110-00-530-1757 is still in circulation with the U.S. Government and N.A.T.O. countries. Per current military specs, the knife has a partially serrated "Never Dull" type blade
for fast cutting through canvas, leather, sailcloth, all ropes & running rigging (including Spectra, Dyneema, Kevlar, etc) plus virtually every other type of fibrous material aboard the ship.
Manufactured in Providence, R.I. Each knife proudly carries its own serial number stamped into the blade, and comes with a Lifetime Warranty.

COMMENTS: The "1757" is the folding rigger's knife that started it all, and has been copied many times by various manufacturers over the years. But as is often the case, few of the replicas have been able to match the precision, durability and balance of this American-made original.
At just over a quarter pound, the 1757 is denser, harder and stronger... it is what we call
