Description
ID'd 1889 Pocket Watch by American Waltham Watch Co.This is a nice watch with a history.
Made in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The movement serial number is 3736437, Model 1883 with an estimated production date of October 1888-May 1889.
Size is 18s, Jewels-7j.
Open
face movement, double sunk dial, beveled glass (chipped), gilt finish.

There is a hand painted ID, (Knights of Pythias) on the face of the watch, "Burnside, K of P 34. S.W. Munro, Bristol R.I., 1902."
In looking at a Civil War Database, Sylvester Munro is listed as enlisting as a Private in 1861, mustered into Co.G RI 2nd Infantry. He deserted on 9/18/1862.

In very good condition. There is rubbing and wear to the finish, a chip in the glass, scuffing, heavy use, keeps time.
