The XM Series CNC flat ground drop point blade is the best of both worlds offering maximum cutting potential in a blade that has a durable tip for prying; the blade thickness on a 3.5″ XM-18 is a full .165″ retaining its thickness right out to the tip. The oversized choil permits choking up on the blade for more precise work. The blade locks up on a solid ¼ in diameter Thumb stud which is press fitted into the blade. This makes for a very strong lockup as there is no loosening of the thumb stud which can happen with two piece designs. The fact that the thumb stud locks up against the frame adds an incredible amount of strength to the sideways torque of the blade as the sideways stresses are being stopped by the whole handle side, thus relieving the stress that would normally be put on the pivot.
The ergonomic handle has an incredibly strong pivot made of 1/4" barrel diameter 17-4 PH stainless steel with a 3/8" head. The non lock side has a .050" thick titanium liner and a textured black and blue layered G10 scale for secure grip, a CNC machined 6AL4V titanium back with frame lock and Hinderer Lockbar Stabilizer, open frame construction with large standoffs for strength and ease of cleaning, a lanyard hole and an end to end reversible pocket clip.
This used knife is still clean and factory sharp. I don't have the original packaging or paperwork but I believe it was manufactured between 2011-2013.
