The new Schatten CE-2 pickup system is specifically designed for use on a Cajon. This great sounding unit is quick and easy to install, requires no modification to the cajon and remains entirely hidden within the instrument.
The CE-2 utilizes two high quality sensors that attach to the inside surface of the sound-board of the cajon with the supplied adhesive materials. With the sensors mounted -- one near the top of the soundboard and the other near its bottom -- the CE-2 provides full dynamic sound with excellent feedback resistance. The 1/4" output jack assembly attaches securely to the inner back wall of the cajon with strong self adhesive velcro.
This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.) As with any pickup, the sound can be further enhanced with an outboard preamp. If you require the ability to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer then you may wish to add the Schatten Mini-Pre belt clipable preamp.
