    Fossil Venus Tridacnoides Shell from Yorktown Formation Exposure In Virginia. Condition is Used. This shell was found in Virginia and is a beautiful example of the specimen. Approx 5” at it’s widest point. Of Genus Mercenaria.
    Listed as a “Principal Yorktown Formation Fossil” In the Virginia Geological Survey of 1932 Lower York-James Peninsula by Joseph Kent Roberts.
    This Fossil shell is more than likely from the Late Miocene/Early Pliocene Epoch and is around 2-5 Million Years Old.
    Also appears in historical literature as Mercenaria Corrugata.
