Proceeds from this auction help to defray costs of offering this privately held park to public viewing and access. We are greatly disappointed when we hear stories of windmill buyers who were misled or misinformed when buying their windmill as to its ability to pump water from certain depths. There is nothing worse then finding out after spending hundreds or thousands of dollars that your mill is not large enough to do the job. Given windmills do not pump water but lift it to the surface in cooperation with a well cylinder, a windmill must be the proper size and capable of developing enough lifting power to lift a heavy column of water in addition to heavy steel sucker rod or waterlogged wood sucker rods. Lifting power is a factor of wheel size/ wind gathering ability and must be properly matched to the weight of a given column of water, etc. The water's weight is determined by the size of a wells drop pipe & cylinder plus its height of lift. Now you do not have to rely on a unlisenced wellman or unscrupulous vendor who may try to convince you his mill is right for the job. The documents in this auction will allow you to make a proper choice before you spend wastefully. Before you believe a claim that a 10ft mill is capable of pumping from 500ft or a 8ft mill from 300ft, you should review this information.

Co, Challenge, Dempster, Flint & Walling, Fairbanks Morse, Fairbury, Stover & American West. Each manufacturers charts are included in this lot. This is not generic information but that published by each company listed. You are not buying our originals. Includes 12- 8 1/2" X 11" pages . This info covers both back-geared and direct stroke mills from 6ft to 22ft  using well cylinders in sizes of 1 3/4' to 20".
